Niran's 1st Birthday Weekend

Friday was Niran's official Birthday. Dad and I reminisced the past year of being parents and although it definitely wasn't easy all of the time, overall it was very fun and worth every minute. We decided to make Friday, Niran's Day, all about him.

For breakfast he had favorite dish, french toast! Afterwards we walked down to the park to play. His favorite thing is to go down the slide and then climb back up. This was an impossible task at this park since the slides were just too steep. We got back in time for his morning nap allowing Mom to start on his birthday cake.

Niran got a package in the mail. He dumped the popcorn and then put it away!
In the afternoon we wanted to go swimming at the YMCA, but the pool was closed, so we went home. After his afternoon nap Mom had his swimming pool ready for him to splash around in, which he did for about an hour. Niran had PB&J for dinner and was allowed to stay up and play a little bit later than usual.
After a yummy PB&J!
Saturday morning, Niran and I went and ran some errands which included getting a haircut. His hair was just too wild for Mom's taste! The rest of the afternoon Mom worked on the cake when she could, cleaned the house before Uncle Ry-Ry and Aunt Jennie arrived while Dad and Niran did their own thing.
In the evening we headed to Aunt Brandi's and Uncle McKay's Diaper Luau. Niran had so much fun crawling on the floor, pushing toy cars around, crawling up the stairs and getting attention from all of the adults. I took him home early so he could have a good nights sleep and finish the last of the cake decorating after running to the store for more icing.

Sunday was Party Day! I got all the food prepared in the morning and finished loading up the car. I wanted to make sure we all got out of the house since it would be silly for us to be late to our own event!

Niran got so many cool toys. His favorite at his party was his bongos. I tried to hide them so we could continue opening gifts but he went after them. At home he switches from toy to toy all day long.

I think Niran's first Birthday Party AKA Mom & Dad celebrating their survival of the first year (17 more to go!) was a success! Food was good, the kids got to play, adults got to play and socialize and although the cakes did not survive they did taste good. Niran did not fall asleep until we were almost home which surprised us. We even went to Uncle McKay's to watch the Cards play and he stayed awake to play with his cousins.
